A literary devotion is not a RELATIONSHIP to JESUS.
God revealed His complete truth to humanity by sending His son (the word was in the beginning, but then "the word BECAME flesh", John 10:1, scripture was not "in the beginning").
It is easy to claim to be 100% sold out to The Lord, but what would you give up to actually BE sold out? Would you give up your favorite hobby? Would you give up your shiny new car? (neither one is necessary).
But would you give up your status in the institutions of man (accomplished "scholar" approved by man) and your book/text compliance that enables you to have that "status"?
Many people have always decided to form their relationship/devotion "by the book" performing rituals/deeds and procedures of "STUDY" examinations/analysis of text, money giving, etc. with H2O baptism (instead of LIVING water) trying to "FORCE" their way to the kingdom instead of enter "BY THE DOOR" (John 10:1).
Matthew 11:12
"From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force".
John 7:39
"for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified".
John 10:1
"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber".
John 10:9
"I am the door, if any one enters by me, he will be saved".
Do not take the kingdom by force, but enter "BY THE DOOR", not BY THE BIBLE.
Have a "more excellent" devotion (1 Corinthians 12:31) and "faith for faith" (Romans 1:17).
Living water poured from Christ's side at the cross (1 John 5:6, John 7:38, Acts 1:5).
JESUS hung on the cross, NOT the bible. JESUS suffered and felt pain from the crown of thorns and the spear, the "bible" did FEEL any pain or suffer. JESUS came by "water and blood". Jesus and His father would appreciate you making the distinction between "the bible" and "JESUS".
