about an invitation to a friend, need some advice!

I have invited a friend whom I haven't seen in 12 years for a holiday in our house, in Hawaii. She couldn't afford to come here if she had to go to a Hotel.

She did ask me if she could pay for our food while she stays with us which I declined. She offered to help me in my work and I didn't say anything about this as I find, you can offer a lot by words but when she is here I wouldn't want her to have to work in her precious holidays.

But then I thought of something I would have wanted from Germany and I asked her if she could buy it for me. I offered to pay for the items as I didn't want to ask her for a gift.

Well, it's not the world, I wanted some 8 pairs of cotton socks and a few pairs of cotton leggings, amounting to some $ 120 - 150 .
Now I feel really bad that she doesn't offer me to bring a present and I will have to put up with her in our living room and treat her as a guest and I dislike her right now.

Am I wrong with expecting something of her?

I had a visitor before her who outright declined bringing me chocolates from Germany and I had not a good time with her at all. I don't want to have to go through a bad experience again. But she has booked her flight already. Anyhow, could somebody give me an idea???

Thanks so much.
