i always thought the role of the pregnant woman -- and the growing human fetus!-- was largely undervalued. And I frankly don't entirely believe women who insist that they love having lots ofsex while pregnant. (that just seems to me to be out of touch with what's actually going on.)

the tale of the nursing 8-year old is weird. Such things begin to be very creepy, and 'parasitic'.

This notion of having sex to bring on labour/birth also seems utterly against nature. (or like some sort of distortion of ideas of "sacred sex".)I remember being pressured for having no interest in sexwhile pregnant...or for some time after! It felt just plain unnatural to me, and honestly a bit violent, like invasion, but of course my husband thought my lack of interest was *unnatural*.

I don't think most people have any idea of the holiness of the human being, and how it's much more than a body.
