Short Term Fasting question..
Ive read in braggs fasting book and online where just 24 hours fasting is benificial.
It simply gives your digestion a rest.
Ive also read where 2 or 3 days is also benificial and
say 1 to 3 days a week or a day or 2 over the weekend etc, all benificial.
But last night i just read where short term 1 to 3 day fasts do NOTHING because
it takes 3 days for the digestive tract to shut down and begin cleaning and healing so 1 to 3 days is useless.

In this page of the link above it mentions short term fasting ineffective because it takes 3 days to start the actual fasting process.
Ok I have been fasting every other day and have just completed 2 days fasting on water and I feel pretty good and can notice thie difference in how I feel.
I DISAGREE with the fact that short term or intermittent fasting is ineffective.
Braggs book :the Miracle of Fasting" it recommends both short term and long term and are both effective simply because were giving our digestive system a break and a rest.
I know a woman who is a friend of mine who has intermittent fasted for more than one year now and dropped from 155 to 105 and she feels great and looks great. She says she loves intermittent fasting and will continue to do it the rest of her life.
She also has stopped losing weight and has stabilized at 105 to 110 daily.
She simply eats one day and fasts the next and when she fasts she only drinks distilled water.
I am currently intermittent fasting as well and so far i like it.
it is much easier than going days or weeks at a time.
The important thing is on the feeding days I eat a lot of fruit, vrggies, and green salad.
With a handfull of seeds and a cup or more of beans.
The "Eat To Live" diet by Joel Fuhrman.
Here is a link from the same site where they speak negatively of Joel Fuhrman:

Scroll down, its in the middle of the page.
Regardless of what they say of Joel fuhrman I still feel his diet is great:
Fruit,Veggies,Greens,salads,seeds/nuts and beans
What do you think about short term/intermittent fasting?
