Re: Day 16/30 water fast
Hello splash,
Donn is quite right: this is a water-fasting support forum.
Juice fasting is actually "juice-feasting" and is usually harder to tolerate because of the absence of full ketosis achieved on a water-only fast, which suppresses appetite/hunger, and is therefore much easier to tolerate, especially after the major work of detox has been accomplished.
Bowel movements do not usually occur during a water fast, as the body will usually shut down the bowels except in rare instances........

Water fasting will also lower the metabolic rate and therefore conserve the internal food reserves of any individual who water fasts, as an instinctive measure in the prolongation of life and the survival of the body. The longer that the water-fast progresses, then the less weight is lost, sometimes by less than a one quarter pound per day towards the very end of a 30 to 40 day water-fast.

I couldn't find any reference to fasting on the ask barefoot forum under "books" and then only a reference to juice fasting.
