Re: Getting ready for first complete water fast
Hello SoulDoc,
the "hunger" or appetite that is experienced within the first few days of a fast is only a feeling of "an all-gone sensation" in the absence of food and its withdrawal.
This is not genuine hunger.
Real and genuine hunger is a gradual process which builds over a day or two and is an unmistakable experience which is quite hard to describe in words; if you have ever been severely dehydrated resulting in a powerful demand for water, or been deprived of sleep for a few days, and where you are just unable to keep your eyes open no matter how hard you try..........it is this kind of experience.
Shelton said that genuine hunger is felt in the throat, in my own experience this is true, but in addition it is an all-over-bodily experience that intensifies with the passage of time and stems from the depths of your physical being........the innate power and wisdom of the body utilizing ALL of its instincts in the prevention of starvation.
Genuine hunger is ineffable.
