Re: why doesn't fasting make me lose weight anymore?
thank you, all three of you. i appreciate your insight stratrebel (though these are things i've heard, many, many, many times) and i used to be like mouseclick, where it worked for me (though i only do single day fasts do to weakness and he does much longer ones). unfortunately i didn't keep up with it so i gained most of it back, as you said is common.
the thing is stratrebel, i know all the things you said, and when i started the pattern of
Water Fasting on sundays, i had already incorporated healthy eating/calorie counting/fat gram counting and exercise. sunday was a boost day, a rest day, and it helped amp up my weight loss a bit. it more importantly made me not feel bloated, which is extremely easy for me. it's not like i'd fast fast fast, and then have a huge pizza binge. but, i was eating around 1200-1500 calories on my non-fast days, whereas i'm lucky if i can get 400 down my throat in a full day now. it was like that for a week before i did a 36 hour fast, so maybe that's why my body freaked out. i guess i'm just a bit sensitive?
i don't really know what to do about this. i think i'm just going to have to listen to willow and do what i feel comfortable with, that is, not fasting until i'm able to consume more calories to build my body up or something. that kind of contradicts what i've learned, but i don't know what else it could be, considering the way my body reacted.
