I tried the cucumber and lemon. Not bad! but not as satisfying as the fruit juices. I wanted more juice in an hour or so.
Your program of
juicing all day and eating a small meal at night sounds very healthy! I would think you could do that indefinitely. How about instead of "dinner", you have a serving of steamed veggies?
I think our goals are really important here. If you want to cleanse and detoxify I would try to stick to just the juice. If your main goal is weight loss the juice/solid food program sounds llike a healthy way to get there.
I too am new to juice fasting and have spent several hours on this website trying to learn. My take on juice fasting is this (remember, I could be wrong):
The juice fast isn't really a fast at all, but a gentle form of cleansing. It does provide nutrients and energy, but in a form that allows our digestive system to rest and repair. If you add solid food during a juice fast, your digestive process doesn't get a chance to do this.
I haven't been "perfect" either. For instance yesterday I had a juice drink at a health food store which turned out to be a "smoothie", not juice. That is all the pulp and seeds were still present, just liquified. Wow, was it good and I felt great afterwards, but the pure juice fast doesn't want me to do this.
I think that the juice fast or any other approach to health through fasting and cleansing depend very much on the individual. What can your body tolerate? And, you have to start somewhere; I was confused for a while because I wanted to juice-fast, but read I should do a colon, kidney and liver cleanse first - which of course work better on a cleaner body to begin with...I water-fasted for two days (very hard for me to do!) before I began the juice. Yesterday I started a
Colon Cleanse using the B/P shakes. At some point I want to do a liver cleanse too, but not until I am through with the juice fast.
Right now I feel great and am going to continue the fast. This is my third day on just juice and fifth day of fasting. I've lost about 5 lbs and feel very calm and clear. I guess I'll go off the juice when I get clear signals from my body that it's time to eat again!
