Keep in mind that not all women have problems with mirena. Someone I know has the mirena and she says she has no issues with it. She had it for 2-3 years I believe. So, maybe if you do get it, watch your self closely, as soon as develop any problems, get it out. It can be expensive depending on insurance though. Do this if this is your only option though. I am seeing one right now and when I told her I had heavy painful periods and irregular cycle before mirena, she looked surprised, I think it can be treated. The mirena experience was hell, the only good thing is that my periods are lighter and less painful now. But I would have never gotten it if I knew I would suffer like this.
