One negative Lyme test is not very reliable. The tests are so bad that you could still have Lyme with a negative test - especially if you went to a "regular" doctor and had a test from the wrong lab. There are only three or four labs in the US that have reliable Lyme tests and even those aren't 100% accurate. To rule out Lyme Disease you would need to see a Dr. that specializes in Lyme. It's sad - we need so much more research and better tests and treatment for Lyme Disease.
