Was mainly focused on this blurb: "Since the acid in the gut is the body's first line of defense against pathogens, one can only wonder what benefit there could be to weakening that defense by neutralizing it. I see none." which I happen to agree with fully at this point in my learning. In studying other forum owners (in this case Barefoot herbalist) I've come to the conclusion (perhaps wrongly) stomach acid is very bad thing.
