? re: toothache

MH,
I have a tooth that for the last couple of years starts to ache when the cold weather hits. I'm a runner and I really notice when I'm running in the cold. This is my front tooth that I broke when I was about 10. It has had the same crown on it for a very long time. Pulling the tooth is not an option!! I'm living with the pain right now but if it gets unbearable then I will have to do something. I do NOT want a root canal nor do I want a bridge. My options aren't pretty and was wondering if you had any thoughts on how I can just calm this tooth down and keep what I have. Thanks so much!
