Re: why am i so hungry??
Hi peacelovinggirl,
What kind of diet are you switching from? Even though you are not fasting, six days is probably not long enough for your body to adjust, and since it's not a fast, you may also not be reaching a point of 'detox' either if you were eating a more or less standard american diet. It could be that depending on the former diet, you are used to having a certain amount of calories. Filling that bill by eating higher content fruits that are richer in calories, like avocados as was suggested or a bunch of bananas may help, although if what you were eating before was more concentrated foods, your stomach would probably need to get used to eating higher quantities but that could take a while. Until then, eat at whatever intervals throughout the day your body requires. It doesn't have to be done all in a block of three square meals.
Barefoot has a method of fasting which starts off with a tablespoon of epsom salts dissolved in water to start your day off, for the first few days. I know you are not attempting a fast, at least not yet, but by starting off with the epsom salts, you remove the mucous slime that fills in over the 'holes' and scarred tissue caused by the acid required to digest the other foods previously eaten. During an actual fast, then by the third day the scars should start to heal and then the cravings would start to heal. I don't know if this would apply simply with a shift in diet, as opposed to an actual oj fast, but maybe that might work, if not maybe go the next step and try an orange juice cleanse, even a 3 day Hays, or Christopher style fast.
Otherwise just try to up the amount of calories with higher carb fruits, or frequency of eating, whatever you need. The higher fat seeds may helpm but you might feel you need to eat a lot of them still, and then you might get into not the best food combining.
Also experiment with different smoothies. A blender full should more than fill you up for a while.
Good luck and stick with it, as you've already stated you are feeling great in a lot of ways. It will only get better.
Jeff
