Re: God's "expected" role, and then there's reality
Teach her to be self reliant as you might not be there all the time. Unlike God, he will always be there.
Yes, you must pray and ask God for guidance and help for everything from making your daughter more self reliant to choosing a college she goes to. The difference is between asking and questioning is two different things. Such as we cannot question who made God this becomes against every religion there is as God is the ultimate.
Ok, now you ask what happens. 3 things.
1. he answers you
2. he doesn't give you what you want but saves you from a diaster or difficulty that was decreed for you.
3. gives you extra blessings when you meet him on judgement day.
Up to him what he does, right. Ok, now the worse thing we can do is to tell him "look I keep asking you and you never answered". In other words do not be anxious and be patient at his decision.
Patience will get you more than in this life and it teaches you. Why do you have trials? This is to make you stronger and if you pass the trial you will get an extra step toward your ultimate goal and then he will test you with something harder. So this life is just one big trial and how you respond is how you will leave this life.
It doesn't matter what religion you are as we all believe in God and we all depend on him and on judgement day you will be questioned about how you spent your time and how you raised your children so the decisions you make now will follow you. Just my opinion!!!
