My husband has got that one covered, he's learned to reload bullets, and to paper patch cartridges. He casts his own bullets, with lead from wheel wieghts, and the paper patching allows the lead bullets to have the same velocity as jacketed bullets.
All of this allows jacketed velocity for a fraction of the cost.
If we have to, we can trade bullets for nasty Florida wild pig. Which will be throughly cooked.
I don't trust mint certificates, bullion is numbered and registered like firearms, therefore it can be found and removed by the powers that be, safety deposit boxes are only as reliable as the bank that holds them, gold does attract theives.
I think the best, most reliable thing than any of us have in trying to survive this kind of situation is intuition and intelligence, better than silver and gold any day.
