I have actually been recommending double dilution...
It seems that you get better activation with 5% sodium chlorite than you do with 28% sodium chlorite. I am not sure why this is, but it is measurable.
So, I first recommend diluting the 28% solution to a 5% solution, then activating it 1:1 with 10% citric acid
. After the activation, I then recommend diluting it down to where you end up with around 1 - 5 PPM free ClO2.
A liter of 1 PPM free ClO2 could be taken once a month, or once a week during flu season, as a general "keep the bad stuff away" drink.
I am nervous about how ClO2 and HClO2 effect children (those under 50... [smile icon]). When I have been approached by people worried about their children, I have instructed them on how to mix up the mouthwash.
