Re: More parasites in the tropics?

Hi PC,
I can see you are a fan of David Wolfe, and I am not totally against him, nor others who have different philosophies, which on closer look, are quite varied, and not congruent with each other. I'm not that into syncretism.
My main point is that he is not a 'barefoot' type of rawfoodist, even if there are parallel tracks.
I have to admit a bit of guilt here. I've bounced here and there with trying out different 'gurus' and different philosophies, and I've gone back to the simple, especially after finding a few that jibe (in my opinion)with the same philosophy of simple, mostly mono-meal, frugivorian, etc. I'm not perfectly there, but I'm more than well on the way. In an ideal world, I'm not sure I would even 'need' to supplement with herbs, but the world is not ideal, and I've spent most of my time here not living ideally. So, anyways,I AM guilty of developing a little aversion to the razzle dazzle of promotion and the business, and all. There's big bucks in selling many kinds of products, such as dried berries from the himalayas (and yes, I've bought them, and they are good, but so are dried cranberries, or raisins, at one twentieth or more the cost.
it's the whole business that irks me, I admit it. Maybe there's a part of me that's just plain jealous, and I'm not self admitting it.
I just think, that a lot of money gets wasted by people unnecessarily.

I know people who are really into it, and it's fine for them, but I know others who get caught up in spending big bucks for things like a bottle of nonijuice, or mangosteen, or whatever the latest promotional thing is.
Wolfe is convincing, and enthusiastic. And one thing I'll give him is that he lives what he 'preaches'. To each their own, if it works for them. I"m just finding that the old and simple works best.
But regardless, it is not "Barefoot", in terms of approach, or philosophy.
It's not a 'good' or 'bad' rating, but it just is, even if there are some things that are not in disagreement.

(the Mrs Barefoot use of superfood as a terminology is a lot different than a product which has some superlative claims and a high price tag to boot).

In any event, no intent to offend. We're all on our own journey, and will be until we 'get there'- wherever that is!

Peace, PlzChuckle

Jeff
