Neither Silly Nor Psychotic Nor Wrong
Hi Hopinso ~
I will offer my thoughts. You may take what fits for you and discard the rest.
That you had this experience at dusk is significant as many cultures believe that this is the time of the day when there is a window into the spirit realm. When someone has died as a result of an accident, violence or suicide... their energy may linger at that location as they have yet to fully cross over. My guess is that your sensitivity allowed you to sense this energy and 'see' (in your mind's eye) what had happened to that person. I posted the following link for Rudy on the NDE forum... which you might also find it of interest...

I too have had these experiences... both during meditations and in trance states... and also spontaneously. I do not see visions or hear things in the sense of hallucinations... but occasionally 'see' vivid images in my mind's eye and also experience instantaneous 'knowings'. On a few occasions I have been able to do historical research that proved to be consistent with details of my experience. I neither believe nor disbelieve in past lives... although I have also 'seen' and 'felt' things that have raised many questions for me.
I also find it very interesting that this was soon followed by your encounter with the deer buck. Deer have a major significance in many shamanic traditions. Here a just a couple of links that speak of this association...

Finally... it saddens me to hear that some might judge you as being "spiritually wrong" or "a great sinner" because you have yet to fully heal. Healing is a process that occurs on many different levels... and it can take quite some time. In the shamanic tradition... your illness might be looked upon as an initiation process... and be viewed in a much more positive light. Perhaps part of your healing journey is reclaiming your own power and authority... instead of being swayed by anyone else's judgements or beliefs... including mine.
Take care,
O
