surgery to get mirena out

My doctor has tried two different procedures to get my mirena out. The last procedure he used a local anesthesia on my cervix and tried to open it up to get the mirena out. He tried for awhile and then brought in the untrasound machine and the tech along with another doctor and they still could not get it out. They could see it in my uterus, but could not get it out. I now have to have surgery to get it out. My doctor is the best doctor that I have ever had and I trust him 100%. I am just confused about my situation because most people on this forum that have had to have surgery it was because the mirena was lost. Any advice would be wonderful!!! Tweet
