a good friend drove pigs to market for his father-in-law one summer and he said the same thing. he said, "whatever else you might think, that is not human food." i guess the smell wasnt the worst of it - broken bones sticking out from under hogs too big to stand up, open oozing sores... and those were the healthy ones. i guess the job was to get the animals, pigs and cattle, to market before they died. what were they dying of? the fattening process.
my advice: be on a first name basis with your steak before it is ever in the package in your freezer.
