Re: Doctor could not get my iud out

I also had the cone biopsy (18 years ago) and went to the doctor today to have the mirena removed, and they could not get it out. I have not had any side effects and have been very happy with it until now. What I want to know is should an ultrasound be done to locate it before I have this surgery? I go in for a consult with the doctor on 10/13/08. I can tell you that what I went through at the doctors office was NOT fun....to say the least. I had mine inserted in 12/03 and I recently got married and we want to have a child, so the timing to take it out was perfect.
