Re: post-fast / Advice? sorry, graphic
(small edit)
Hello Chiron,
BM's are for the most part suspended during a fast but it is not unheard of for there to be several BM's in a fast of your length..............
"Dr. Eales' bowels moved at least once a day during the first week of his fast; with a slight movement about once a week thereafter. He records movements on the eleventh, and seventeenth days. He employed one enema a week and had both an enema and a spontaneous movement on the seventeenth day. His bowels began moving within twelve hours after breaking the fast and moved twice a day thereafter."

You are surprised that you have no wish for salt?
I wouldn't be at all surprised, as salt is a pernicious poison to the body, and where both Paul Bragg, Shelton, and many others within Natural Hygiene spoke out against its use. Your body will however be craving the electrolyte sodium (found in beets & greens, celery, apples, apricots, asparagus, carrots, and dates, to name a few sources) as these sources are made bioavailable and organic by the vegetation, and which is entirely different to the sodium chloride (inorganic poison) we find in common use today.
The awful taste you are experiencing being chemical/metallic would mean you are low on nutrients and even possibly electrolytes, but this is not unusual after a fast of 29 days or so, and where it is now important to replenish these with liquid nutrition in the form of fresh juices of fruits and vegetables, but taken separately.
I am personally in favor in breaking a fast when hunger has not returned with liquids, (as was Shelton) because in this way only minimal digestion is needed and the nutrients are released straight into the bloodstream for optimal use. Solids are not very digestible in the early stages of breaking a fast unless natural hunger has returned, which doesn't apply in your case. Stick mostly with liquids for the first 4 to 5 days at least and then introduce solids with fruit of a high water content, progressing to small salads after the first week.
You are indeed convalescing now for at least another month, and where if you take the above advice, you will be singing from the rooftops.
I don't think mono-meals are a good idea after the
juicing phase, because you will need to have as wide a variety of nutrients as possible, and this will just not happen with a mono-diet.
FRUIT.
Melons should be eaten alone.
Sub-acid fruits combine well with Acid fruits.
Sub-acid fruits combine well with sweet fruits.
VEGETABLES.
Non-starchy & green, red, yellow, or white vegetables combine well with Proteins.
Starchy Vegetables( example potatoes, wholewheat bread) combine well with green vegetables.
DO NOT MIX ANY FRUIT WITH A VEGETABLE AT THE SAME MEAL.
With reference to what you say below the main juices that have been used traditionally for decades are; Fruit....Orange with apple. Vegetable juice: Carrot.
Other vegetable juices can be a little strong such as cabbage and beet juice but can be added to the carrot juice for flavor and varied nutritional needs.
"edit:
even something like carrot beet juice, or green juice sounds quite complex (and rich) to me right now, though the thought of a mild
Celery soup made with almond milk sounds appealing. (it's coming on fall here)"
You are very welcome Chiron and been glad to be of help.
Regards
