Re: Day 10

hi monet!

the stomach gurgling and grumbling is completely normal!

although i would suggest that you do not use toothpaste - brush instead with bicarbonate of soda. the toothpaste stimulates your digestive system. also try using a tongue scraper in the morning - it gets rid of a lot of gunk.

here is a link to (another!) great post by chrisb1 about teeth during fasting:

fasting does create emotional disruptions. i was a bit screwy during my fasts - and became especially fractious when people would say things to me like 'you are going to kill yourself' or 'you will end up with more complications from starving yourself' blah blah blah (grrr). i felt a lot more sensitive and vulnerable that i normally do. and i would certainly have times when i felt discouraged and despondent. it is really important to try and let these feelings just pass and don't allow yourself to dwell on them (which is much easier said than done!)

here is a reference about emotions from dr isobel moser -

re: emotions
'People who are fasting release a lot of mental/emotional garbage at the same time as they let go of old physical garbage. Usually the psychological stuff contributed greatly to their illness and just like the physical garbage and degenerated organs, it all needs to be processed.'

'And the emotions many movies prompt people to sympathetically generate are powerful ones, often highly negative, and contrary to healing.'

good move about the scales! try not to worry about them either - your body is doing everything that it needs to, and it will do it in order of priority and its own time.

i think animals are a whole lot smarter than us! they instinctively fast and then break their fast with whatever food is available. we tend to complicate everything with busy, noisy thoughts! you don't necessarily need to dilute your juice, just drink it slowly (i 'ate' mine with a teaspoon) although i actually found sucking the juice straight from quartered oranges much better. fonty advocates breaking fasts on fresh juicy fruits, not juices, and this worked much better for me.

you are doing great! yay!
good luck!
