question about fasting and energy/exhaustion
Hi,
When I did a 20-day
Water Fast last year, I had times when I was really tired but also times when I felt really energetic.
Last May, I wanted to do another fasting of approximately the same length, but cut it short around day 11 because I was so exhausted all of the time. I wanted to sleep all of the time and when I was awake, I felt too exhausted to do anything - even when I tried to take a walk around the block, I felt like I was going to die.
The 20-day fast I did last year seemed so magical in the way that I had days when I felt so euphoric and energetic. It was really frustrating and disappointing to go through what seemed like an eternity asleep and doing absolutely nothing.
Each fast I rested when I needed to and did no exercise other than short walks and drank nothing but water to thirst. Each time I didn't have to work and had no commitments.
I want to do another fast for an indefinite period of time. Does anyone know what would be behind having such different experiences? I think I was definitely more toxic during the first fast rather than the second, and I think I had more healing to do the first time, so I don't know why I had more energy the first time rather than the second. Perhaps I am mistaken and really was more toxic the second time, but that seems unlikely to me.
Also, is there any difference in the amount of healing being done when feeling either way, energetic or exhausted? I want to achieve as much healing as possible which is why I keep activity to a minimum while fasting, but the extreme exhaustion and constant sleeping seemed hard to bare after a certain point. If that happens again, is it best to persevere through it? Am I achieving more healing that way? Could I feel that way for an extended period of time on the fast and then suddenly get energy back again?
Thanks for any input.
