Day 10
Hey everyone! I hope you're all enjoying your week so far.
Anyway, today is day 10. There have been some changes since day 6, I am no longer getting the dreams I was so enjoying. I have only had one dream since then, and it was so disturbing I'd rather have not had it! I am still sleeping at least 8 hours a night, but it is disturbed sleep. I wake up every few hours, and each time I wake up I have to be up at least 30 minutes before I fall asleep again.
I'm also feeling really discouraged. My stomach has been "awake", grumbling and gurgling, and just yesterday I connected it to the fact that I've been brushing my teeth with toothpaste. I didn't think it'd be a problem, and one of my teeth has been hurting so I really want to keep up on my brushing, but obviously this is detrimental to my fast. I'm wondering that since my stomach, and I'm assuming therefore my digestive system, is not "sleeping", has the last ten days of fasting been worthless in terms of healing? I'd also like some suggestions on how to care for teeth while fasting-- I've seen it suggested to just brush with water, but I have a tooth with an open hole (cavity) that I can't get taken care of right now and need to keep the damage to a minimum. (I do oil pull when not fasting).
Also, this is just a strange thought that came to mind, but I know how there is much talk of how animals (besides humans) fast in times where they need healing, and I am curious as to how those animals break their fasts. Surely they can't break it on diluted juices, but I'm curious as to if they immediately begin eating the foods they ate prior to fasting or if they do something else.
I had to go to an orientation for an online class I am taking yesterday, and that meant walking a total of a half mile, I swear it felt like I was dying!! My chest hurt, my lungs hurt, I have no clue how people work or exercise while fasting, but I'd like to give kudos! I doubt I could pull that off!
Otherwise I am doing fine. Have been dreaming of a different junk food each day though, one day it was pizza, which I only eat probably once a year if that, so I thought that was strange. I'm not checking the scale anymore, I'll check it again whenever I decide to end my fast, but it is just frustrating me now. ;)
OH! I was curious to see if any of you have gotten mood swings on your fasts? Me and my husband were talking yesterday and he had confused something I had said and I just started yelling at him?! It was nuts and I felt horrible, but yesterday everything was irritating me! I'm curious as to whether or not this is due to fasting? If not, maybe my period is coming, but I usually never really experience any PMS symptoms so I'm confused.
Love reading all the posts! Thanks everyone!
