Re: Sudden extreme pain, welts and bruising in calf
You are so knowledgeable, Summerhaunt,
And you are good at reasoning things out.
I'll be asking for your suggestions one of these days, I'm sure.
I have no understanding of MMS (silver, I think), though some on the Parasites forum may have tried it. Perhaps a little 'search' over there would be useful.
I think you could give a parasitologist or a vet, an excellent conversation. I think they'd appreciate you.
I still agree that it surely sounds parasite-related...the purple color indicates some blood involvement, and the white areas raise questions. The fact that the color has diminished indicates your circulation is good...a very happy sign, I think.
Also, the white color of the parasite you found likely indicates its youth. Right away quick I wondered where its momma is...though she may be short and have lost her segments. I read it is the head one looks for.
I have no idea why any parasite would choose to live in, or vacation in, the leg...unless it was finding the digestive tract too inhospitable.
The hunger factor may be significant. Does that happen often? Something else entirely may be limiting your appetite, I would guess.
I read that true hunger comes on slowly, and that sudden hunger may be compulsive, or...?
Don't know if that, or anything I mention, helps you at all, but I'd very much like to read your report of complete recovery!
Soon,
Fledgling
