Steering clear of all gluten will probably make a huge difference.
Also, beware of so-called "sports drinks" which are also hiding a multitude of sins.
btw--there's good protein in green leafy vegs, quinoa -- which is not a grain,
millet, beans. Nuts, avocados...etc. The need for meat is part of a big protein myth.
Read some of Andreas Moritz ' posts. Very illuminating.

For the digestive issues (especially with the possible 'leaky gut' from "bad" bacteria, slippery elm is sort of a wonder food. It can be eaten for a long time as a sole food,
is soothing and is very good at healing the lining of the gut)curezone google it...
