Hashi's as previously explained is an autoimmune disease. Your immunity is whacked out from something else (like maybe Lyme's disease or some other microscopic critter).

My doctor (who is *supposed* to be a Wilson's Syndrome Expert) UNDER PRESCRIBED a generic form of T4 (.25 mcg), long acting T3 (27 mgs), and, 50 mgs. of Iodoral along with TOA free SAMENTO (which made me herx my ass off so bad that I couldn't take it).

Given my blood work this time last year he cut back my .25 mcgs of generic T4 to zero and just had me take long acting T3. Within 3 months I had a goiter and a nodule on one of the lobes of my thyroid. Insult to injury, I was paying out of pocket to see this guy and driving a hour to get to his office.

Found Curezone and started taking the T4 again at the prescribed dose. Switched from Iodoral to Lugol's and worked up to whatever is in a half a dropper full once a day. Also went back on the SAMENTO and guess what? NO HERX!!! Nothing, nada... zilch. I can drink the stuff by the spoonful and get no reaction.

Doctor's visit was pretty ugly. "You have Hashi's and you are Euthyroid -- meaning you are on the correct medication based upon your blood tests to bring your numbers in line with whatever "they" say normal is." Never mind that I felt like shit and I developed a goiter... the blood tests rule the prescriiptions. Okay -- he's fired.

I switch to an Endocrinologist (he's in my health plan and also one of the top docs according to the Washingtonian Magazine) and he promptly took me off of T3 and DOUBLED my T4 and put me on synthroid not the generic.

I am now dosing Lugol's at a half a dropper full twice a day along with same dose of TOA-free SAMENTO (fingering that if there are Borrelia Burgdorferi (lyme buggies) lurking that might have caused the Hashi's in the first place that the SAMENTO would synergistically work with the Lugol's to eradicate it).

I have also been pulsing with massive doses of Iodine on the weekends. I just did a stem to stern liver/colon cleanse/fast for two days that included a coffee enema - and, folks -- I was VERTICAL and went to a party! (So, what does that tell you?)

I did well prepare for the cleanses by taking the correct herbs to clean out my liver and gall bladder for several months and stopped drinking alcohol when I began to use the Liver Cleansing herbs.

So, at this point I can say that my goiter is no longer interfering with my swallowing and I can see my jaw line. And, unequivocally, Lugol's probably saved my life. Nope, not afraid of it, drink it with apple juice and go on about my day.
