Re: hypothyroid and high ocular pressure

Hi:

I've been using UT for about 3 months. I have (had?) glaucoma and had my annual exam 4 weeks ago. My eye pressure had dropped from 21 in each eye to 16 which is in the normal range. This was after just 2 months of UT. Even though during that pressure drop I'd been taking glaucoma medication, I convinced my doctor to stop for a couple of months to see if the UT will handle it all by itself. My next exam and pressure test is in three weeks so will know the end result then. Told my physician (MD) that I'd been using UT and he had no problem with it. Up to that time I'd not used UT for an eyewash but because of my dropping the medication I try to eyewash with UT once a day with an eyecup, have read that others do this too and it truly does relieve eye strain. (Murine - drop the M and replace it with a U and you have the active ingredient in Murine.)

My glaucoma medication consisted of beta-blockers, dropped in the eye once a day and was told when I started them 5 years ago there would be no side effects. However, when I quit the meds I was completely washed out, tired, listless for 5 days. Will never go back to the meds.

Jim
