Re: Gotta get a nerve conduction test done..

I think you should go ahead and have the test. Then, at least you will hopefully know the source of the problem and discuss alternatives with your doctor. Do not automatically fall for surgery, ask for less intrusive options you can try first.

If there is structural damage surgery or some form of brace will be necessary. I personally believe you should try the brace first, but you must be faithful in using it.

If the nerve is inflammed fasting and an anti-inflammatory diet will be of great help. However, you must stay away from highly inflammatory foods such as Sugar in any form, especially high fructose corn syrup, and probably most grains and even starchy vegetables. Even The Master Cleanse may increase inflammation in the first few days until the body gets rid of its load of stored glycogen. If you are a frequent consumer of "junk" foods, then you may not be able to controll the situation with diet alone.

The fact that you noticed some improvement with the Epsom Salt soaks suggest there is probably inflammation present. Transdermal magnesium therapy has shown evidence in reducing pain and inflammation in the body.

The symptoms you have described are quite common, especially when there is a lot of repetitive motion performed in your work or hobbies.
