The only ones trying to politicize evolution are the creationists, IDiots and other anti-science groups and individuals. We see this all the time as organizations like ICR, AiG, and the Discovery Institute with their Wedge Strategy. They openly admit that their goal is "To replace materialistic explanations with the theistic understanding that nature and human beings are created by God".

Like most anti-science proponets you confuse the facts of evolutions (it's real, it happens, has happened and continues to happen) with the Theory of Evolution, which is the explanation, mechanisms that drive evolution. A common fault with most of the antievolution people, they don't even understand what they are opposing. They do so because they don't understand it, it "feels" wrong and it goes against their religion  - they never do it on facts.
