I just joined and always liked browsing this very interesting site.
I had a blood test during a major diverticulitis attack ordered by my doctor. My white blood cell count was elevated a bit as expected, but there was blood sedimentation at 40 and c reactive protein was at 15.7 which my doctor said is very high. He wants me to take more blood tests now that the divirticulitis has mostly cleared up to see where these values are at now. What does a high c reactive protein really mean? He seemed so vague, but concerned. I never had a blood test that showed this before. I do have a 26 year history of chronic IBD and diverticulitis, fibroid tumours, and I am still getting over a horrible case of shingles that I have had for a year and a half. The shingles is 90 percent gone thank goodness. I have had a lot of joint pain, headaches, which also seem to go with intestinal infection flareups.
