Re: Chemo - Ovarian Cancer

Molly,

You can give your parents what they will find comfort in, including just being there for and with them.

Some things like juicing and such will bring a better quality of life through it all than she will have otherwise.

My step mother-in-law did pick up on my suggestions to change quality and types of oils, sugars, salt, grains, etc. Primarily organics only. She has been doing Epsom Salt baths and such. She is still getting out and enjoying life, months after the doctors gave up... She also got the best Jack La Lanne juicer. She loves carrot juice, so I told her to have at it. She is drinking juices every day, more on days she feels like not eating at all.

There is no reason to make, or force someone out of their comfort zone at this stage. All my suggestions are just that... She had a bit of constipation from the meds and radiation (she refused chemo), and I gave her some Colosan and explained how to use it. I also gave her my stashes of Dandelion Root tea and Essiac... need to get more :-)

I spent many hours putting a large book of information together for her and then many more with one-on-one instruction. She used what she felt good about and left the rest behind... coming to me on occasion when she has a symptom to ameliorate.

BTW - one of my best and most appreciated gifts to her was ginger root tea with raw honey - I had given her a pretty good stash of wild harvested honey too.

I suppose that is a good thing...

"Ginger has been used to control or prevent nausea, vomiting, and motion sickness; as an anti-inflammatory (a drug that reduces pain and swelling as in arthritis), a cold remedy, an aid to digestion; a remedy for intestinal gas; and to help relieve nausea in cancer patients who are having chemotherapy. Some proponents have also claimed ginger is able to keep tumors from developing, even though available scientific evidence does not support this."

Many prayers coming to you and your parents.
