My first ever question here on this forum was: will fasting remedy constipation? (which I am chronically... fun times!) Well, several weeks later, I am much more informed. I have been reading several books on fasting (I have only ever done a 40 hour fast... I am looking to begin a longer one but am scheduling it around my very active summer holidays) and the question kind of still remains:
I know now that fasting is a huge detox for the body and a time of healing - but if digestion slows and stops within 24-72 hours of beginning the fast, how will a body that has been quite constipated eliminate what it needs to eliminate? How can the body detox when it's not eliminating because of halted digestion? This still seems confusing to me.
Thanks in advance for your knowledge,
