oh Sky, i have much sympathy with you, especially because i can so relate... i also do not have a credit card due to poor credit issues (and i am 31) and i also come from an extremely non-supportive, wheat-loving family!!! they are so closed-minded, it's unbelievable. if i go to my parent's house, it's the same thing... they say, "why can't you just eat like the rest of us for a few meals?" my mother takes extreme offense when i bring my own salads.

my mother is also huge into dairy, and despite my brother being diagnosed with a severe milk allergy, she continued to serve us cheese-laden foods while growing up. he'd be in the bathroom for hours with cramps everyday, and still she did nothing to make her food more healthy. it's mind-boggling that a parent would knowingly give food to a person that exacerbates their disease... and if your family tries to get you to eat wheat, that's exactly what they're doing to you!

it's my belief that my mother is also slowly "poisoning" my father as well... he's getting fatter and fatter because all the meals in her repertoire involve combining starch with protein. (she literally does not buy vegetables EVER... she told me once that she hates all vegetables because she was forced to eat them as a child, and vowed to never serve vegetables to her own family... how sick is that???) anyway, both my parents also drink quite a bit of alcohol. it's sad to see how people you so desperately want to help just ignore you or take offense when you try to lovingly set a good example. i've reached the point where i just have to say, "well, they are adults making their own life decisions, and there's nothing i can do".

sorry to go on and on, just wanted to offer you a little company in your misery on this subject :)

here's hoping that your HP infection will be cleared with ease (like your confident naturopath thinks)!
