Re: Wow!

Hi Motherweary,

I could tell by the doctor's voice that he was a decent chap, I am good at judging people, so I told him. I knew it would have been OK for the medical, but yes I was really happy when he expressed interest - mainly for him! Plus being a respected doctor, he may influence others. So I emailed him and told him I was happy to go through any extra tests (free of course) if he wanted to see living proof that fasting is safe.

On the subject of preaching to people, one thing sticks in my mind. We had this guy called Derek Ross, he was quite well known in UK corporate circles, sort of a mini Tony Robbins motivator if you like. He told me about the paper ball in the bin that I mentioned in another thread. I was selling cheap phone calls many years ago, that was when mobile cellphone calls were the equivalent of $2 a minute, and the product was genuine, I saved a fortune - maybe $200 a month. I only decided to sell it part time because all my friends were interested. But some people, they would not believe it. They argued, and no matter what you said they would not believe. This was sooo frustrating!

Anyway Derek got us hyped up one day, remember his aim was to get us to "sell" the most, and he told us if someone starts saying "I don't believe it, this is illegal" and so on, just walk away. His word was "NEXT!", and if that person is the same, then move on, "NEXT!". And that's how you "convert" the maximum number of people.

Of course if it's a health matter and they are your friends, family and loved ones, then "NEXT!" doesn't quite work.

In my first couple of fasts I tried preaching too, saying how exited aI was about fasting, and how good it was, but all I had was people wanting to phone me in case I had collapsed, telling me I must eat, saying I will die and so on. So I just thought "forget them", and I just came here and did it, where you get like minded (sane) people.

Now of course they can see the results, and I know many of them are struggling with diets and failing, goodness knows what they must be thinking. And similar to Chrisb1, I had an uncle who died on Christmas Eve, and I am sure fasting could have helped him, and I did try, but it was regarded by some in my family as crazy, not to mention the doctors. But what can you do if people refuse to listen?

Now with my fast, you can see the results from the outside, but with healing of course you can't. So I guess my tactic of ignoring my friends then just doing it would not be quite as effective if any changes could not be seen. But at least hopefully they will now be a little more receptive to ideas such as fasting, and maybe if they become ill they will consider it, if pointed the right way.

Anyway I do just love your attitude and your patience, and thank you so much for your kind comments :)
