Re: bella lucia and me :)
Hi everybody!
i've got a spare moment so i thought i'd check out the forum since i haven't had much time for that lately :)
thanks for your support, Loosie! I know you'll able to do longer and longer... it really does get easier the more you try it.
thanks for your support as well, archus! i think it was you who asked me a few days ago if i took supplements during my re-feeding. i actually did not take any supplements at all, so i was able to replenish my nutrient stores with food alone. i wouldn't have been 100% certain about this if i hadn't had that blood test that proved it. i ate almost entirely organic and raw, so i'm positive that's what allowed me to replenish so quickly and easily. the ONLY thing i took in capsule form is acidophilus. i find this helps my digestion. after this fast i plan to take vitamin D (because that is the one deficiency the test revealed) and the combo of Vitamin C/Quercetin/Bromelain that Chris recommended.
archus, i can definitely see how fasting in NYC with a full-time job would be difficult! my dream-come-true would be to do my fasting at a wilderness retreat where i wouldn't have to think about all those daily stresses. one of the most difficult parts of my fasting is the fact that i still have to prepare food for my daughter. i wish i could just avoid food entirely, but that's impossible... i still have to shop for it, touch it, smell it... it takes sooo much will power. but there are lots of other people in this forum who have families and they manage to do it... some of them even get to where they ENJOY it! i sure hope that happens to me!
I AM also working, but it's only part-time, and it's at my dad's store, so it's VERY easy-going! i don't think i could fast and do a regular, high-paced stressful job. and i live in canada, in a fairly laid-back medium sized city... though i do have to say, i visited NYC a few years ago, and i found it absolutely LOVELY! i was living in Toronto at the time, and had always heard that "canadians are the nicest people in the world, and New Yorkers are the rudest". WELL! i was stunned when i realized first hand that the New Yorkers i came into contact with were miles more helpful and charming than Torontonians! it was an eye-opening experience. and i found the city itself very warm and inviting. granted, i was there on vacation, so i was just sight-seeing and sitting in cafes. it probably has a very different vibe during rush hour :)
yours,
bella lucia
