Re: bella lucia and me :)

Hi Archus :), thanks for your kind thoughts!

I don't have to go to work, I am very lucky, I work from home on a PC as I have an online business, and somebody works for me, so I don't have to do much. In contrast, bella lucia does work, AND looks after her daughter a single parent, including the tough job of making food for her.

I have always appreciated how work can cause stress. There have been times on my fasts when I have had to deal with stressful people, and that throws me off a lot. I also know what a BAD job is, my advice to anyone in one of those is get out, you are wasting your life. And from what I know, the American work ethos is worse than the British which would make sense of your comparison of NY stress levels with London.

Mind you I think the British are getting bad enough with their constant targets, appraisal meetings, sickness monitoring, nonsensical brainwashing with terms like "get your ducks in a row", "product evangelist" and so on, and the expectation that you work extra hours for free. Plus commuting. I can't imagine fasting in that kind of environment.

However I had not previously realised how much a child can take it out of you when fasting, especially as a single parent, because you have to look after your child constantly. It is very difficult.
