Yeah, but Teal'c seems to do alright with one inside him. Cleans up his cuts and bruises every now and then, so seems to be beneficial to his skin texture. Even cured his blindness once. Personally though, I would feel safer with leeches, they stay on the outside and are easier to remove with a fag end.
