The only thing I know about adding hormones to the body is that the gland or glands that normally produce the hormone that is added will kick back and not produce the hormone because it is already in the body.
The body will detect that there is plenty of the hormone present and will signal to the hormone producing gland that it is not necessary to produce any.
When the hormone is added synthetically regularly then the gland will become inactive and shrink in size since it is not needed to produce the hormone that it normally does.
The only reason that a hormone producing gland would not produce enough would be due to the body not being as healthy as it once was and or not getting enough raw materials as in oils.
