Re: Nice new pic

Two and a half years is awesome. I don't know why, because my mother had no problems, but some of the other woman in my family have had problems keeping up milk production also. I was able to breastfeed for four and a half months with my first one before my milk started drying up. At the time I had not the resources or the knowledge to get herbs or things that may have helped me. I was very sad about it, because I thought that I could set an example for other young mothers (I gave birth when I was 16) and because I knew that it was the best thing for my baby, and I could not give it to him. With my second son (born in Dec. of 05) I was no where near as educated in health as I am today, however, I suppose it was my intuition that told me that I did not want to give him that garbage formula. I wondered to myself if I could make it from scratch I mean what did our ancestors do when they could not produce milk(that is the question I pose to myself for just about everything now - what did they eat, how did they live, that is how I want to live, and nourish my family with proven nutrition) so I went online and googled "Make homeade baby formula from scratch" That one little question changed my whole life. They did have a recipe, but this recipe opened me up to a whole new world that I do not think I would have found so soon were it not for the anticipated arrival of my second child and the anxiety that I may not be able to feed him either. So, I bought the ingredients, and was prepared. I think that I may have been able to nurse him a little longer had I stayed home, however circumstances at the time required that I return to work, and though I pumped relentlessy, it was not the same. 5 and 1/2 months later, I had to face that horrible fact again - I could not produce what my child needed. However, the formula was quite wonderful and he was a much healthier and happier baby than my first. My first is quite tiny and it could be genetics because I myself was quite tiny, though I was given soy formula after 6 months. My twin was even tinier growing up because she could not breast feed at all due to her frenulum being to large to allow for proper latching. He will be 4 in august and is 26.6 lbs. and almost 36 inches. Other than that, he seems healthy and is a very intelligent, observant little boy. Other than my own two children, I also have two wonderful stepdaughters that are 13 and 14. We are hoping to start trying for our daughter in December. I know that sounds silly, but just like I knew that I would have two boys, so I know that my next child will be a girl - or a very sensitive, gentle little boy:) So you have a Virgo? I am a Virgo also. I bet she loves to be outside with nature. Does she act like a little mommy sometimes too? Funny, but sometimes I wish that it was just me and my boys. Things would be so much less hectic than they are. We would be more connected. I love my family though, and I adore Brian's girls, and they treat me like a mother, so I guess craziness can be rewarding too.
