Re: What I've been up to :)
Hi reinvented,
You have had a very similar experience to my own.
A first fast of 25 days which was extremely difficult with symptoms of detox throughout, followed by a second fast of 30 days was much easier and very pleasant and enjoyable on the whole. Second and subsequent fasts begin with a much cleaner body and are therefore easier.
I don't think you have broken any rules in refeeding, only the customary advice on replenishing your food reserves, but if this is what your body is telling you to do, then that is absolutely fine and nothing to be concerned about.
The clear mind and high energy levels are typical of a second prolonged fast because your energies are not being used so much in house-cleaning as in healing (if required) so you will experience a surfeit of energy, which you can exploit in any way you wish and that feels so absolutely fantastic as you now know.
Towards the end of my second fast of 30 days I would describe my own mental state as "euphoric".
Just a word of caution though on Dr Grahams 80/10/10 diet: a minimum of 80% carbohydrate, with a maximum of 10% protein and 10% fat. The diet apparently is comprised of fruits, vegetables, greens, nuts and seeds, which I think is an excellent diet personally.
But not everyone agrees with the long-term use of a predominantly fruit-based diet, based on their own experiences, and I am one of them. Just my own opinion.
