Re: Will this clear up?
Hello Motherweary,
I would go along with Fontys advice about breathing, from his post in reply to your own.
Feeling drained with arms and legs feeling heavy, and the other symptoms you have described as feeling shaky and heart-rate being quite fast, are normal symptoms of the early stages of the fast, so are not unusual. I experienced the exact same symptoms myself on my first prolonged fast.
As your fast progresses these symptoms should subside and you will feel stronger as detox is being accomplished.
In addition to what Fonty has said, I also had trouble breathing during my first fast and did some research on it; the best solution for me (and which helped enormously) was to deep-breathe in accord with the directions of a Yoga Guru named Indra Devi. Breathing deeply is very beneficial to the body but it just depends on how you do this: according to her, deep breathing is the same breathing as in sleep........by breathing in very slowly from the back of the throat via the nose and filling the diaphragm first, which then allows the air to fill the lungs from bottom-up. Exhaling was from the top of the lungs which are then emptied completely and slowly into the base of the lungs by pulling in the diaphragm slightly; a bit like filling a jug of water from the bottom to the top and then emptying the lungs from the top to the bottom.
I hope this will be helpful to you.
