Are shorter fasts good more frequently for someone who cannot fast long? Chris....

Hey guys, I was just wondering how someone who cannot fast long could achieve the same benefits as a long fast. My husband works with heavy equipment and is climbing trees all day, working a chain saw, and is just heavily active at work. He could not fast for any extended length of time. Any suggestions?
Also, Chris, it is amazing, what I read from Sheton's online book about not even being thirsty. I'm not really, it's quite a change from someone who drinks a ton of water every day. One question though, is too much weight loss a concern while fasting? I am 65 inches, and 120 lbs. Just wondering. Thank you very much.
