True. But now we are older and wiser. So we take our pleasures in small doses and understand completely what each of those pleasures entail. So if you indulge or fall once in a while, no big deal. But if you fall off the wagon and go back to the things that made you sick in the first place, then that's a learning experience too.
Now Doritos Nacho Cheese Chips call my name all the time....ALL the time. I was addicted in the old days.
I was given a bag of them at an office brown bagger, and I resisted opening them. As the speakers droned on and on about perfectly stupid drivel, I decided to punish myself even more by opening that bag of chips.
You know what? All I could taste was chemicals. And I examined the chip and realized it was laced with the stuff. I wasn't even sure if the chip itself was actually real food.
And that is the culmination of my years now reading about food. Sure the chip tasted pretty good, but my mind screamed stop! And I did after two nibbles.
So I have learned. And I've made some choices that are mine, personal to me. Some may not agree, but that's perfectly fine. And how I see it, if someone comes onto CZ and asks whether they should take up smoking...I'd say no. If someone came onto CZ and says they smoke but doesn't ask my opinion or judgement, then I certainly will stay out of their business.
