Re: body composition scale
Hi bella, thanks for your compliment! I guess I learned from Chris and Fonty, I still have a long way to go, but I will never beat Chris for his knowledge of Shelton, and I don't intend to try! ;-) But hey, you aren't doing so bad on advice too, and it's your first fast. You are a very quick learner.
Anyway, Archus has the right idea for scales, I have ordered a Tanita too, they make scales for the medical profession and they came out well in reviews. I bought a BC540 cos I got it at a great price, but there are better models, you can check the whole range at
http://www.tanita.com/. I notice some can even measure fat around the waist, how on earth they do that I can't imagine. Others make them too, Salter, Hanson etc. I could have continued to use the ones in the local pharmacy, but I wanted to know my body weight, not weight plus clothes, and it was a bit embarrassing with all those people around etc. ;-)
Body Mass Index is a measure that is a guide, it does not take frame size and other things into account, so knowing body composition is better. I am sure your doctor will have facilities to measure this too, and accurately.
Hope the refeeding is going well, I bet you are really enjoying shopping for fresh fruit and vegetables!
