Re: Tomorrow I break my fast! I want to keep the weight. Help!
If you look at a post I made on this forum a few hours ago, you can see that I usually put on weight after a fast, but not as much as I lost during the fast. In fact I find it very difficult NOT to put on around 3-5Kg even when eating healthy food.
From my experience, if you continue to eat healthily after the fast (you should have learned to eat healthily from the fasting experience) you will peak and the weight will stay at that level, then fall slightly if you continue to be careful. It won't keep going up and up back to your old level.
You haven't really lost all the weight in fat, you have lost x lbs in fat, y lbs in fluid and z pounds in what was in your alimentary canal. You can stay at the same weight if you follow Fonty's instructions, but as I see it this involves what amounts to a post-fast diet.
I used to worry about this on my first few fasts, but now I am not bothered. I will just do another fast later. I still have around 25Kg to go, and Rome wasn't built in a day, it took me 14 years to put that weight on, so I don't expect to lose it all at once.
My advice, if you don't manage to stay at the same weight; be patient and do another fast after you have restocked with lots of good healthy food.
