Another, less threatening condition of the stomach that affects both dogs and cats occurs when some agent inflames the stomach walls. Symptoms include vomiting, loss of appetite and fewer bowel movements. These are symptoms that can suggest a dozen other problems, so a professional diagnosis is needed. I usually treat gastritis by putting the pet on a fast, giving only small amounts of liquid, even just ice cubes to lick, then ease him onto a bland diet of chicken or turkey, white rice, and chicken broth. For good measure, I'll include the homeopathic remedies....
