If any carb foods have a negative effect I doubt carrots would be on the list. Carrots like other vegetables are easily broken down and assimilated by the body. Fruits are the easiest for the body to digest vegetables are right up there as well.
Carbs such as cereals, grains, beans, lentils, potatoes and noodles could present problems for someone with a sluggish digestive system.
I've learned quite a bit on this kinda stuff since I started food combining.
I noticed that my lower digestive system seems to be clogged.. I can see all my upper abs but my lower ones are bloated. I have a bloated lower stomach which indicates that my lower intestines/colon could have problems. The only time this bloating went away was when I was water fasting.
Food combining would fix a problem like this but I have trouble following it at times ><
