Lugol's to raw/stressed skin. In the early days of this forum we had a poster soak his eczema afflicted feet in a lugol's/water solution, the results were not pretty(he posted pics). Those posts were lost in the crash, unfortunately. Actually, I just found one of his pics:

I recall that he was advised to apply slippery elm gruel to assist in the healing.
Whether the increased irritation is a sign of healing, I don't know, but I think that there are gentler ways of going about it. I disagree with Archus that straight
Lugol's will burn the skin. It WILL cause apoptosis(programmed cell death) in any abnormal skin growths. I successfully removed a suspicious mole by painting it, I also painted a healthy mole(healthy moles will have a hair) and an area of clear skin as a control. Those areas were absolutely unaffected.
And yeah, lavender is great. Play with the recipe all you want, I have. Castor oil is good, though, it has many healing properties.
